EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Executive Director (ED) provides decisive visionary leadership and strategic oversight for Woodlands Conservancy (WC) for today’s pressing needs and future greater potential. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for realizing the mission, vision, and strategy of the conservancy. Day to day responsibilities include overseeing Woodlands Conservancy’s properties and restoration projects, staff management, securing significant capital and operating philanthropic support, and serving as the principal public representative of WC.
The ED will cultivate and steward partnerships with donors, volunteers, corporate sponsors, and community partners while ensuring WC remains a vibrant and sustainable nonprofit organization. This role is ideal for an energetic, strategic, and community-oriented leader with a passion for conservation.
HABITAT TECHNICIANS – (November – March)
The Conservancy is seeking two part-time, seasonal (November – March) Habitat Technicians to assist in implementing habitat restoration projects on the 650+ acres of nature preserves that the Conservancy owns. Projects include brush removal, invasive species control, site prep for planting plots, planting seedlings and containerized trees, conducting surveys, tagging trees, leading and supervising volunteers and/or interns, chainsaw and bush hog operation, herbicide application, and equipment maintenance with approximately 95% of time spent in the field on restoration projects. TULANE WAVECORPS – NATURAL RESOURCE STEWARD
In partnership with Tulane University, Woodlands Conservancy is recruiting for 2 Tulane WaveCorps Members to serve as Natural Resource Stewards in the Spring 2026 Semester. Members will work January through May, completing two weeks on site with Woodlands Conservancy in January and May and 7-8 hours per week during the remaining portion of the semester.
