DESCRIPTION:Celebrate National Bird Day with us by learning how citizen science is helping birds all over and how you can get involved too! \n\n\n\nVeteran birder with worldwide birding experience\, Glenn Ousset will lead us on a hike following a short introduction to the concept of citizen science and the Merlin and eBird apps. \n\n\n\nIn addition to being a great resource for all birders\, these apps play an increasingly important role in science and conservation. Both are available for free on Apple and Android devices. If you would like to participate fully in the Merlin and eBird portion of the event\, we recommend installing/setting up the apps before the event and ensuring that your device is fully charged. \n\n\n\nThis event is free and open to all ages.
