DESCRIPTION:  \nIf you want to learn to recognize and taste many of the common edible plants of the coastal Gulf South\, this is the workshop for you. The workshop will be half-day field trip\, where you can see the plants in their natural environment. You will be given BRF’s (Best Recognizing Features) for each plant plus other facts like parts used\, etc.  You are encouraged to photograph\, take notes\, ask questions\, and take specimens with you. A numbered checklist will be provided to each participant.

SUMMARY:International Migratory Bird Day - Banding Open House
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of International Migratory Bird Day\, stop by the Woodlands Trail banding station any time between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm to observe.  You will have the chance to see wild birds up close and learn about how we use banding to monitor bird populations.  The station is located at the picnic table 1/4 mile down the rightmost branch of the upland loop trail.  Banding is weather dependent.

SUMMARY:Earth Day Clean-up Hike
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Earth day by volunteering to help us clean up the trail!  We will be combining our clean-up efforts with a short guided hike to learn about bottomland forests as we pick up litter and pull invasive plants.  The hike will be approximately 1 mile.  Come prepared with closed toe shoes\, water and sunscreen.  Gloves will be provided. \n  \nHelp us keep the trails clean with a Donation in Honor of Earth Day!
