DESCRIPTION:Come Help us Kick-off the 2022 Hike-a-thon! \nJoin us in the woods for hiking\, networking\, and fun nature activities for folks of all ages. \nWhether you have pre-registered for the Hike-a-Thon\, want to register at the Kickoff\, or just want to join us in the woods to reconnect with nature and learn about our work\, we would love for you to join us at Woodlands Preserve as we kickoff this year’s Hike-a-Thon. \nWe will gather at 9 am for some mindfulness and networking.  You will have the opportunity to join experts on guided hikes throughout the day\, or hang out in the meadow to make art\, enjoy the outdoors and network with others. We will have light refreshments with a requested donation.  There will be plenty of opportunities to find out more about Woodland Conservancy and to support our work. \nPlease bring your family and friends and join us in the woods to kickoff this year’s Hike-a-Thon\, where you support local wetlands just by hiking\, walking or running outside. \nWhat is the Hike-a-Thon? \nFind out more here \nDuring the Hike-a-Thon\, registered attendees will walk\, hike\, or run a marathon (26.2 miles) at their own pace over the course of October 2022. DESCRIPTION:The Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival celebrates 30 years on the banks of the beautiful Tchefuncte River on October 12-13\, 2019. Presented by the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum\, this premier family event attracts over one hundred classic boats\, hundreds of spectator boats\, and wooden boat and music enthusiasts for this two-day celebration. \nWith a dual focus on science and outdoors\, the festival welcomes The Woodlands Conservancy\, a non-profit land trust organization\, which will be providing children with the opportunity to plant native seeds in peat containers that they can take home to plant in their yard. They will be attending the festival on Saturday only\, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
