2nd Annual Save Our Sponge Concert

Join us on World Wetlands Day for a celebration of 17 years of the Woodland Conservancy’s work to Save Our Sponge, the 800 plus acres of bottomland hardwood forest serving as a protective storm water and wind barrier for the Greater New Orleans area.
The doors open at 7 pm for guests arriving for the Save Our Sponge Concert. The concert begins at with Tom McDermott’s fingers dancing across the keyboard of the Steinway Grand Piano followed by the eclectic mix of modern sounds and rhythms with ancient Cajun melodies and lyrics of Lost Bayou Ramblers. Food and libations will be available for purchase.
Preceding the Save Our Sponge Concert, the Patron Party will begin at 6 pm in the Bolden Bar. Patrons will be offered complimentary gourmet appetizers and spirits and music by Harry Hardin’s Jazz Quartet. Patrons will also have a chance to bid on great Silent Auction items. Patron Party admission includes VIP concert seating and cocktails throughout the evening. Patrons will be acknowledged in the Program Book.
